Are you still craving sugar while on a ketogenic diet? Me too! Personally, I don’t think there is anything wrong with having a sweet tooth while losing weight on a keto diet. That’s the beauty of dirty keto, you see. There is always a low carb dessert substitute.
Once you’ve cut back on “real” sugar, your physical cravings for sweets will drastically decrease over time. Even your sense of smell will improve! Since losing 140 pounds on DIRTY, LAZY, KETO, I can literally smell sugar from across the room. It’s almost freaky.
Old habits or emotional triggers for sweets, however, won’t change overnight. Those take hard work to address! In the meanwhile, I suggest having “safe” sweet substitutes on hand to help get you through those moments where you MUST HAVE SOMETHING SWEET or a BAKED GOOD RIGHT NOW! I’ll share some of my favorite keto dessert ideas with you. Promise not to judge?
Yes, many of these products contain artificial sweeteners or are chemically processed. Thank you for pointing that out, Captain Obvious! It’s a personal choice, in my opinion, so please hold back any lectures. DIRTY, LAZY, KETO, supports the use of sugar substitutes to help break the sugar-addicted cycle of obesity. Sometimes you have to pick your poison. Every product listed here is something I used myself during the course of losing 140 pounds.
Below are some of my favorites (connected with Amazon links so you can see what I am talking about!). I’m always surprised where I find these products for sale in my community. It’s hit or miss, usually, and often products are hiding in the very back of a discount retail store like TJMaxx, Big Lots, or even Walmart. Sugar-free foods are sometimes organized near the Pharmacy or in a special “diabetic friendly” department. Please keep me posted when you discover a new treat so I can share it with the rest of our DIRTY, LAZY, KETO community. Happy Shopping!
