When I was heavier – weighing close to 300 pounds if I’m being completely transparent, I spent a lot of years sitting on the sidelines. On vacations, it was the most noticeable. I remember about ten years ago we rented a boat to take the kids tubing. It was so hot out, like 105F, and everyone was taking a turn in the raft — everyone but me, that is! I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to pull myself up onto the raft or get myself in and out of the boat, So… I just sat there in the boat, sweating to death. I pretended to want to take pictures of everyone, but the truth was that I was afraid my weight would get in the way.
