Keto Grocery Shop Fast. Save Big.

6 Time Saving Hacks for the Grocery Store

Eating healthy shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. If you grocery shop using my “dirt cheap” suggestions, you’re certain to save money but still get the things you need for cooking with DIRTY, LAZY, KETO.

Snap a Picture.

Take a picture of your shopping list (or the inside of your fridge) using your phone. Refer to the list (or picture) while shopping.

Create a Shared Folder.

Even better, keep a digital grocery list inside a “shared folder” on your smart phone –  family members can add/subtract needed items.

Set a Timer.

The more time you spend in the grocery store, the more you’re likely to spend. Every aisle, every display… the stores make the food look so enticing! I don’t know about you, but when I see these set-ups, I start fantasizing about cooking exotic, gourmet meals. It would be so easy to start impulse buying everything in sight!

Let’s get you in and out of the grocery store without spending unnecessary amounts of your hard-earned cash! Make it a game. Start the timer on your watch and give yourself a set amount of time to shop. When the buzzer goes off – time to check out.

Use a Hand Cart.

There is a reason grocery stores offer ginormous shopping carts. They hope you will fill them to the top with expensive groceries! By choosing a small carry cart, you are physically limited to buy less. Plus, carrying that basket counts as a workout!

Buy only the items you came for and check out quickly.

Skip anything that says KETO.

I understand how enticing these foods can be. It says KETO on the package, after all! Keto labels catch my eye too. Sure, I become curious, but my wallet reminds me to keep on walking by. Remind yourself that “keto” on a label is simply a marketing gimmick and keep your money in your wallet.

Leave the kids (and spouse!) at home.

Grocery shopping solo saves big money. When it’s just you at the store, you can control what’s put in the cart and move swiftly through the aisles. No more impulse purchases or crying fits.

Losing weight shouldn’t be expensive. I want to help you eat healthy on a budget! I lost 140 pounds without buying fancy ingredients – I know you can do it too. Check out The DIRTY, LAZY, KETO Dirt Cheap Cookbook (Simon & Schuster, 2020) and get started with keto today!
